Pray Often.

Okay so today in family scripture study we read in Alma Chapter 33: 2-41
There were a few verses that caught my eye and they are verses 18-27.
18 Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is almighty to save.
19 Yea, humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him.
20 Cry unto him when ye are in your fields, yea, over all your flocks.
21 Cry unto him in your houses, yea, over all your household, both morning, mid-day, and evening.
22 Yea, cry unto him against the power of your enemies.
23 Yea, cry unto him against the devil, who is an enemy to all righteousness.
24 Cry unto him over the crops of your fields, that ye may prosper in them.
25 Cry over the flocks of your fields, that they may increase.
26 But this is not all; ye must pour out your souls in your closets, and your secret places, and in your wilderness.
27 Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you.

So basically what I got our of this is PRAY PRAY PRAY!
In twenty six it say pray in you closets and in your secret places.
Which reminds me of how Nephi would often go up to a mountain I think it was and pray.
Throughout the scriptures almost every prophet has had a secret/ special place to pray shouldn't we?
So basically that is my mission this week to find a special place to pray.
Wish me luck and I hope this has helped.

Sunday thought idea.

Spread Sunshine
When the Son is your light, you make the world a brighter place.
(See Hymns, no. 228.)

To find this one specifically I had to do a special search so click here to go to the page it's at.

I got a call around ten o'clock ten fifteen, (church for me starts at eleven for meetings instead of 12:30) from YW's and they asked me to give the thought. So of course I was scrambling around trying to shower and get ready and find a thought when my mom pulled out her big book of Mormonads from the New Era magazine. "Why don't you use one of these for the thought?" She offered and of course it was super easy so I rummaged through her book and found one. So I thought that I would give the tip to you guys as well. My mom also told me we could print them online too. (to go to the website click here.) They have practically a Mormonad for every topic.
(The Mormonad I used is the picture above this post.)
I really hope this helped with ideas for thoughts on Sundays.

Serving those who need service.

I finally get to try out a great recipe today.
In YW's tonight we are supposed to make treats at home and to take them to YW's.
Then we will take them around to whoever needs them. Either elderly people or inactive or I don't know. Lets just say this we are going to take them to someone.
I have decided to take this opportunity to try out this great recipe I have.
What is it you may ask. Ha! as if I am going to tell ya. Don't worry I will take some pictures and add another post telling you what it is. So lets just say its a mystery treat.
lol.
So check back later today for the update!

Scripture reading.

The Sunday before last, our teacher mentioned reading your scriptures and the technique of opening them up at random.
She explained how every night you should pray anyways before you read the scriptures but when you have a question you should ask it in your prayers before reading. So basically I put it in steps by what I understood.

  • Start the prayer and ask for the answer to a question or inspiration basically whatever.
  • Then you place the book down on its spine and let go.
  • When it opens sometimes I find it opens to a page but a marker wants it to go to another one so stick your finger in that first page. Other times it opens right up to it. Sometimes the marked page is what you are meant to read.

I tend to start from the beginning of the page but if any verse catches your eye then good! there really isn't a specific technique for how the spirit works. I believe that its different with every person depending on their needs.

So after this lesson I went home and did it because I had wanted to learn how to do it and amazingly it worked. I did it again and again and again and every time and its amazing how clear things become.

Eye on the Prize

So we went to a warm springs the other day. And one of the lifeguards there had a deal with her parents that they were going to pay her two grand if she didn't date, hold hands, hug, or kiss a guy until she was eighteen. And she has stuck true to that deal. That got my parents thinking and we are now in the process of negotiating our price. And note that the lifeguard was actually really cute (like me) so you know she could have had any boy she wanted so its not like it is easy.
So I will let you know when the contract is made and the price is set lol.

Finding good songs/music update.

So in previous posts I have expressed how annoyed I was at the fact that you can't find any fun music that has clean good lyrics. And I explained how I loved the beat to California Girls by Katy Perry and how frustrated I was with the lyrics. Of course I had considered making a parody but how can you do that when you are actually taking it seriously?

lol. So I decided my cousin and I are going to make a parody to it anyways and not take it seriously. Why because it actually sounds like fun. So any suggestions for the lyrics?

I love food.

So yesterday I did my first full fast,
and I understand it is healthy and a sacrifice that makes blessings flow.
But I have to admit. I was extremely hungry.
And I loved loved loved food. But I made it through and it was way worth it.
I feel great and calm and really spiritual.
So all and all even though it didn't seem like it at the time it was a great experience.
So I started thinking how could I make it easier, and came up with these ideas.
  • Have a large amount of distractions lined up (movies, games, and insanely interesting book etc.)
  • Drink a lot of water before hand a lot lot lot of water before hand.
  • Eat a large meal before hand.
  • Catch up on sleep and make sure you are well rested before you fast so that you can really enjoy the added naps and sleep.
  • focus on who or what you are fasting for instead of the fact you are fasting in general.

So I hope this helps, and I definitely think I will have to try the getting a nice good sleep before hand thing. (the night before I had stayed of until 2:40 in the morning. Hee Hee.

July Goals

I have been listening to this podcast free on itunes called Tranquility Du jour and have been reading the blog of this podcaster.(To see her blog click here) And she did this thing where she wrote down and tried to complete monthly goals. And I must say she did a great job.
I was thinking about how great that would be to try to do that. So here I go.

Goals/Dreams
  • To do something creative everyday.
  • To write 1-2 pages of my current book that I am writing.
  • To read my scriptures every night.
  • To write in my journal every night.
  • To complete at least one YW project.
  • To Meditate in the evening, morning, and midday
  • To exercise everyday.
  • To eat healthier.
  • To work on quote journal, or image journal, or other spiritually filling techniques.
  • Filling my cup a little every day.
  • Not to let people rain on my parade.

That's it folks. I may have piled things a bit high, but being the fabulous and brilliant person I am I can handle it. lol.

YWs and the Twilight Saga

Twilight.

Part 1.

It was one seemingly normal fast Sunday in church and the Twilight movie had been out for a week or less maybe more. And I had just picked up the books from the library unaware that the movie was already out and started to read them. So that Sunday was fast Sunday like I stated before and an older lady stood up and bore her testimony about how awful and "inappropriate" the "vampire series young people were reading these days" and how "Kids were reading these crazy and innapropriate books now days".
After that Sunday on Monday morning before school, Even though I was only on the first few pages I was riveted and my parents had to tare the book out of my grasp and away from my riveted eyes. I had finally found it a great book series. After Harry Potter I had gone into a sort of depression when the series ended because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find another great series to read. And when I heard the hushed reverent and a tad bit over slightly embarrassed whispers that the Twilight series was really good I rushed to the Library to check out a copy. After my parents took it away they asked me "are you sure it's good?" "Is it taking away from the spirit?" "we aren't sure you should read this." "How do you feel when you read it?" To every question they asked was a positive and completely truthful answer but despite my attempts I still couldn't read it.
Finaly some family came come to find out everyone has read the series and highly recommends it.
I rub it in a little and mom finally agrees that I can read them and ALL of them none of this you have to be twenty one to read breaking dawn crap.
When I finaly got to read Twilight I read it in one day without breaks barely any to eat I was so rivited. Soon I decided that I needed to read them aloud to my mom and my dad would over here which got him addicted. He would end up staying up all night reading them.
Finaly I got to see the movie and couldn't helo but enjoy making fun of Robert Pattinson's acting skills that wern't fully developed.

A while later one of the teachers in our school (I wasn't there because I was being home schooled) Said that my fifth almost sixth grade class could not watch twilight because it was inappropriate so instead they watched another show that was inappropriate it had swearing every curse word under the rainbow was included in it. Guys kissing guys. truly inappropriate remarks and scenes. And they didn't hand out permission slips to watch it. And they were not aloud to read during it with a reading light.

NEW MOON

So the week New Moon came out we ended up going on a youth temple trip for baptisms for the dead. We live in a town where there is no movie theaters so we took the opportunity to go and watch New Moon afterwards.
That Sunday we all shared what fun things we did that we and when it got to me, and I told them I went to see New Moon after the temple trip. One of the YW presidency gasped and said. "You went to see new moon after a temple trip." (as if it were some bad thing and daughter hadn't even gone to the temple trip because her daughter wanted to go to a basketball game.)
After that come to find out a few of the YW actually went to see new moon and I had brought a friend who was ecstatic to see it after the temple trip.

ECLIPSE.

We have come really far and come to find out a few girls here actually went to midnight release party's and Half the YW saw it in one day that day was actually yesterday the day it officially came out. All before I have gotten to see it needless to say it has been a "total eclipse of the heart."

BREAKING DAWN
I think that by the time this movie comes around all the girls will see it right away.
Why I think so is because.

1. It was inspired by classics. (Twilight pride and prejudice. New Moon Romeo and Juliet. Eclipse Wuthering Heights. and Breaking dawn was its own.)

2. Everyone can compare to it in a way.

3. The battle within between the good and evil within us is universal.

We all have a bit of Bella and Victoria in us. It just depend on what side we choose that day. Like Edward we battle every day between trying to be good and our true nature and even in trying to resist the "Blood." (R rated movies, porn, etc.)
Just my thoughts. It's amazing how things have turned around isn't it?

Any Sugestions?

I find that it is hard in this day and age to find great clean songs that you can compare to and actually make you feel great. I don't know about you but I am all about the lyrics. I can stand almost any kind of tune as long as the lyrics are great. But hey I am not immune the beat and tunes that are on the radio. California girls could be my theme song if I lived in California, had a blue convertible, a drivers license and the lyrics are better. I still can't help but start dancing in my seat in the car when it comes on. (so maybe it's a good thing that I don't have a blue convertible, am sixteen etc. otherwise I would surly have a difficult time keeping my eyes on the road due to the violent head bobbing and shaking.) And Lady Gaga how did she come up with such awful lyrics to such an amazing tune? But does that stop me from jamming out. Much to some peoples dismay nope. So then after listening to California girls with lyrics and getting quite put up with it I set off on my search, for my version of California girls. And it seems you have to choose one or the other lyrics, or tune. lol. But I didn't come up empty handed. By typing in on youtube (got to love that website) Dream this popped up. Now who can't relate to this? and the tune isn't to bad it may not be California girls, but I don't think I will be suffering.
And really who hasn't wanted and still want their own little house. And who hasn't on numerous occasions served bark and leaves to their house guests? (the lyrics were wrong it's bark and leaves not sparkling leaves). I know I have plenty of times.

PS. any music suggestions.

Personal Progress Project Rears it's Head Once Again.

So I am not sure if you guys remember one of my previous post about that personal progress project where you have to plan and prepare a meal for two weeks.
Of course being the over achiever that I am I piled myself high with things I wanted to do with it, freezer meals all three meals in the day just look and the list and you will see. So recently I have decided to attempt it again. My mom suggested that I go ahead and do one meal a day and plan it and maybe it could be dinners or lunches whatever. I decided lunches because....well....thats what we are lacking but then I kind of wanted to do dinners because my Dad is always busy during lunches. Then again maybe if I made lunch mom would be able to take a quick nap while I did. Anyways mom said that maybe I should make lunches until I go to collage. I don't know why but I actually said yes. So here I am So here I am scrambling to find recipes. In a way this project is a major blessing. I am finally able to make what I want or eat healthier or have my faves. This way I will get a taste of what its like to be a "grown up"lol.wish me luck. anymore tips?

Isn't this how they should explaine it?

So I found this Marvalous blog called http://www.sistasinzion.com/ and of course they are absolutely hillarious. It's a mormon blog, and I absolutely love it. While I was reading through it I found thisawesome post. About the Celestial Telestial and Terestial kingdoms and I couldn't help but wonder why they couldn't explain these kingdoms like this in church.
Here it is........

I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto?
>> Tuesday, April 27, 2010
I was visiting with a few of my girls the other day, and one of our sistas who isn't LDS commented that she appreciated the VIP Heaven that we LDS folk have, you know the three Heavens, she said, because I just don’t think I want to be in the same Heaven as my Mother. (I've probably had that thought a few times myself.)

While engaged in this conversation, another sista bore her testimony about the three degrees of glory.

Renee Ebony Miller: When I was a child, Tupac had a popular song out where he asked the question, “Does Heaven have a Ghetto?” That struck a cord with me in my childhood, so much so, that I asked my Mother the very same question. She explained that her belief was that, in Heaven the Lord would want us to be comfortable, and because paradise was different to every person, it was entirely possible that Heaven did have a Ghetto. My mother and I always thought that this was something we would have to wait until we got Heaven to find out. So, when at the age of 14, I started taking the missionary discussions and Sister Butterworth told me about the three degrees of glory, the Celestial, the Terrestrial, and the Telestial Kingdoms. I knew the church had to be true, because Heaven had a Ghetto. It was also interesting to know that the Lord would answer a childhood question of mine. Plus in VIP Heaven (Celestial) you can go visit people in the other degrees of Heaven, but they can't come visit you! For example, my family in South Central can't come visit me in Beverly Hills, but I can go visit them in South Central. Yes, Heaven got a Ghetto/Trailer Park.

Of course our non-LDS sista was now even more curious so we broke it down for her.

Telestial Kingdom: This is the place for those who don't know how to follow the rules. If you don't know how to abide by the law, you might end up in the Telestial Kingdom. In the Telestial Kingdom you are stationary. It’s not prison, but a similar concept. You can make collect calls to your friends and family in the higher Kingdoms, you can beg for a visit, and they’ll come if they want to. No passing contraband from the other Kingdoms to the people in the Telestial Kingdom. It’s nothing like the Penitentiary (not that I know what that’s like), It’s nicer, more like where Martha Stewart went. You don’t have to visit through the glass, no one is going to shank you, and you don’t have to worry about your celly snitching on you. While it’s not quite lock down, it’s not all roses though, because you don’t get to leave. No outside visits, no leaving your Kingdom.

Terrestrial Kingdom: This is like a "middle class neighborhood". In this neighborhood, there are people who are good, kind, and who actually tried to live a decent life. They tried to do right, and still recognized that Christ was the Savior, yet didn't develop a personal relationship with God the Father. Now this place is much nicer than the Telestial Kingdom. You’re not rolling in a Lexus, but you do get a bus pass. There’s nothing wrong with public transportation, shoot, a bus pass is a privilege, cause that means you get to travel! You can visit all your friends in the Telestial Kingdom, however, that’s it though, cause your line doesn’t run up town.

Celestial Kingdom: Now this is what Brigham Young was talking about! This is the place! This is an all access pass. This is the Kingdom that you inherit if you have lived up to all the covenants that have been required of you In this neighborhood, you really do get to leave your doors unlocked and everything is fine. If your address is 2438 North Celestial Boulevard, then you have arrived. The best part about living in this neighborhood is that the "Stationary" and "Bus Pass" friends and family can't just stop in and case your house. No one can try to make you feel bad because you have nicer things than they do They have to call and invite you to visit them... and you got the free agency to say we’re not available. Now what I hope is that we have caller I.D. in the Celestial Kingdom, for just in case we don't feel like answering the phone.

But then we had to drop the BOMB…the Celestial Kingdom has a VVIP! So if you should be one of those who has earned a mansion in the Celestial Kingdom, don't be shocked if you look around one day and find there is an area that is sectioned off, with Porter Rockwell guarding all of "us" VVIP folk. Please don't think I can get you in, chances are I barley got in myself. However I will tell Jesus, Joseph Smith, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, my Mama and my Daddy that you said hello.

Peace & Love,
Sista Beehive

Oh look they have the same sign off as I do LOL. There it is isn't it absolutely amazing and funny. I think so too. Hope you enjoyed it.

PS. Do you think this is how they should explain it in church why or why not?

Sorry to dissapoint.......not really.

So I know you have all been wondering about camp. But I can't lie.
It really is quite dreary writing about camp. It wasn't because Camp was boring, or I really didn't have any fun, quite contrary actually. Really though. After you finally finish writing about it in your journal etc. It is just tiring. So unfortunately that is why I will not be writing about camp all at once anymore. lol. Don't worry though this blog will still see more posts posted every day about fabulous moi of course!
Thanks for reading!.

The SCSS attack. Supper Cool Slacker Syndrome

Sorry I haven't written about girls camp in a while.
Unfortunately the stomach flue has reached our house the last few days.
Which kind of stinks. Anyways that's not the point.
So unfortunately I couldn't find the video of us practicing our skit.
So I will talk about the Presentations that we did the next day.I will definitely post this presentation video tomorrow. It went really well which was great. So I will tell you about it tomorrow when I post the video. I can't guarantee I will get to it but lets hope.

It's Monday.

I decided that I would spread the girls camp stories out through the week, because I lack inspiration and time to write it all today so here is how the first day went.

We were late when we got there so we only had an hour to set up tents and my recycle project which I will tell you about later etc. until we had our first roll call. Then we cam back and practiced our skit. Which I will post the script later. Then it was food time and back to roll call and to present our skits for us We did our skit which was David and Goliath but twisted to be modern. Not necessarily my choice but good enough. I will go into more detail later when I have time to post pics. and scripts but right now that is just an overview of how the first day was mainly just chilling and unpacking.

Ps. our beehive teacher was released Sunday I will really really miss her.

Knots and Knifes

This is the man kind enough to teach us and patient enough to help with my "Knot" so developed knot talents. LOL

Today we had mutual,
Camp clinics and we did Knots and Knifes.
Here are some pics of what went on.
I have to tell you. I can think of a..no a few....no a ton of reasons why they teach boys this stuff instead of girls.

1. Boys will have more use for it.

2. Boys have more room in their brains to learn it. (sense at this age and younger their only concerns are sports, "macho-ness", girls and uuuuuuh ????)

3. Boys have the muscle strength to actually use those knots for what they are intended.

I could go on and on, although it was super fun to be included in the things that our brothers have been doing long before we were old enough to go to mutual. I mean wouldn't you wish that you could go with your dad on the scout trips instead of bieng left at home? So all and all just another night of......you guessed it mutual insanity.

- A regretfully knot-less and happily knife-less Beehive.

Education

In one of the New Eras there was an article from the prophet,
He said that we should become masters in reading writing and Math.
Well SHOOT!! Personally that just doesn't appeal to me.
It is bad enough that we have to learn and review the stuff over and over again in school.
But we have to add to it and work on it more than homework after school. Dang it.
See another thing that I really have a hard time doing. When you are home schooled it is so much easier because you can really work on the things that you need to, and just do the normal amount of things that you have practically mastered.
Well I guess I will just have to work on it any suggestions?

Journaling?

Past Prophets have said that you really need to journal.
For some reason that is the hardest thing to do.
I mean to sit down and write about your day EVERY night isn't something that appeals to me.
I marvel at those who have that talent and want to do that and I just have one question for them. Can you share some of that with me? To me there is a difference between journaling and having a diary. To me a diary is where you could say/write things that you wouldn't ever want anyone to read. A journal is meant for family history purposes and for your children and you grand kids etc. to read. A diary you would NOT want to share it's contents with anyone. Not for fear that other people would find out and use it to embarrass you with (that too though.) More because you are worried your children would be scarred for life at how well imperfect it would show you to be. Don't you want your kids to think of you as perfect. Then again. On the very rare occasion that my mom showed me a few journal entry's it helped me bond with her knowing that she was just like me. So I guess that maybe this blog is kind of like a spiritual journal. I could save it and print it out and add it to my other more rare journal entry's and boda-boom
insta-journal. And it is already reader appropriate. ( - :

The good die young.

So some family came down to visit today and I overheard a conversation they had about how when we mourn it's not mourning for the person who died. We are mourning for ourselves. We feel sad and we miss seeing the loved one who died. That lead me to thinking. About how the really truly good and righteous people dye young (from sickness/natural causes.). I mean this doesn't apply to every situation like some really good people live to be ninety or older too. What I mean is. The goal ultimate goal is to be Christlike and do the lords work and learn to be happy and righteous through allof the temptation right? Once that purpose is filled unless there is a particular mission that one has to be older to fulfill before they can die they usually die young. That also got me imagining if I died say tomorrow what would I want to accomplish today. We live in a world where we can feel limited when really we have the power to create and be anything we could possibly want or imagine. We are children of God and he wants us to be happy. We are daughters and sons of the MOST creative being ever, doesn't it only make sense that we can create our life. So I have decided that everyday I should try to be as close to God as possible. Everyday I should wake up in the morning and go to bed happy and content knowing that I have done a lot of things that I wanted to do and if I had to die tomorrow I would leave this world with the sense that I have done everything I have wantedor at least needed. I am not saying that I would jump out of a plane tomorrow. (but if you want to and can, go ahead.) I mean that I should make my life so that no matter what I have to do I could have the most boring day in the history of my life, but to live it like it were your last I would enjoy every minute of it, even if I were cleaning toilets all day (although I can't see how anyone could enjoy that.) That to me is the true meaning (well true in my opinion) of living your days as if they were your last.

Why is it so univursal? Blog Update

So one of my readers pointed out in a comment a great tip on how to deal with this kind of thing. (see earlier post) Here is what she said you can do. " I made up my mind to not associate with people that made my life harder and more dramatic!" I completely agree with this because how can you get bullied when you purposefully don't associate with people that could and up being like that. So basically you are just taking yourself out of this situation! Thanks to the reader who helped us out with this.

Camp Clinics

So last night we had camp clinics.
I really enjoyed it. We were working on first aid and all of those things and the guy who was teaching us is super hilarious. It was a bit awkward since I am the only one who's first time going to camp is now instead of last year. So he had taught a lot of things to them already but he had to refresh over them for me.
My dad says that once he was a fire chief over a whole city a whole huge huge city.
(I am not naming the name for safety purposes) He was able to tell us a ton about everything. Then we had cookies. YUM. Speaking of food my mom made this awesome nacho cheese sauce without having to add Velveeta cheese! So YUM. I think over all it was a good day.

Why is it so Univursal?

So today my family and I walked to the park.
My brother spotted a friend who is in his church class.
(yes she is a girl lets call her "M") So my brother went to go play with her and we sat and watched near by.
My brother and her, while they were playing ended up getting into a conversation about a girl who was mean to "M")All the classic bully tricks were played on "M" even though the girl who had done it is Mormon. I remember and still deal with occasionally, things like that and it shocked me how universal girl on girl combat is. It made me so sad to know that I really couldn't do anything about it. Will this girl war junk ever stop? It has wounded so many people and just grows over the years. Who ever made up the quote "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" must have been one of three things. 1. a Guy. 2. Extremely confident or 3. extremely niave "Do any of you have tips on how you can deal with these types of things?

Why is meal planning so hard?

A while ago I found that one of the things that I had actually wanted in Personal Progress was a mandatory project (see Good Works pg.54 project 2.) It says that I must collect recipes and plan and prepare the meals for two weeks (well one meal a day, but my mom says I should do all of the meals, to gain a better experience) So of course every time I read it I get all excited and start working on it. I am trying to go by the "food nanny" on BYU TV (to see her website click here) Every night she has a theme. (Italian night, Mexican food night etc.) To add to it I am trying to find recipes for six vegetarian (except for fish, and in my opinion eggs do not count) recipes and 1 eat meat sparingly recipe. So of course by the second day I have gotten no where. At first I couldn't find any recipes. The second time I tried the recipes I did find were to expensive. So here I am on my third try. Mission Freezer meals. Yes this time I am doing all of this (low costing recipes vegetarian except for fish and 1 eat meat sparingly meal, Every Night themed, and FREEZER MEALS/FREEZER friendly.) Wish me luck. And most importantly... Do any of you have any tips or recipes for me?

PS. The fact that is is also a ten hour project suggestion AND a mandatory project shows that it is difficult. (so why did I think it was going to be easy?)

Boy likes a girl and vice versa. (how rare)

The most popular guy in school's twin. (Seriously they look identical)

Okay this video doesn't completely match but super cute so imagine this with the boy liking her back. (although for me this video symbolizes how falling in love really helps you be a better person. or shrink but she doesn't do that in here)

So in class today the cutest thing happened. So Claire and I were walking to Sunday school after we had YW's and we walked into our classroom and sat there for a while just as we were about to leave the cutest thing happened. (cute isn't really the right word I can't think of any other adjective to describe it.) Amy and the most popular hottest boy in middle school lets call him Alex - walked into the room that we are in. "Just tell me" Amy was saying. "Uh-well-um" Alex stuttered. Claire and I had seen and experienced these same stutters when a boy was trying to tell us he liked us (few succeeded but when they did succeed it was terrific.) feeling the vibe me and Claire inconspicuously stepped out. (Okay there was nothing inconspicuous about it "we will just step out" we said scooting out the door) Just as we had gotten out no matter how hard we tried to stop him in walked another boy completely oblivious he just sat there. So poor Alex blurted out some silly question that no one whatsoever would stutter over. What was great though is that I am sure that this couple will work out. It is completely obvious that they BOTH like each other just neither know the other one likes them.

LATER

So we were looking up a scripture and Alex let Amy share his scriptures with him she was flipping through the pages quite fast and he glimpsing that she was close and she had kept flipping he softly took his hand and stopped hers from turning the page they met each others eyes and she laughed smacking him lightly against his chest when he muttered something. smiling they quickly looked down at the scripture. Oh to be in love. (unfortunately they will have to wait at the least two more years to do anything about that. Still fun to see. (do any of you have any story's like that?)

PS. This happened a while ago on a Sunday and is as close to flirting as a Mormon twelve and thirteen year old gets so it was something cool to see.

Dang it.

I am kind of sad because camp clinics was canceled last week and the week before that was general. And those who know me know that I have to constantly be doing something that has to do with the thing or even I am excited about otherwise I explode.
But the time before that was Camp clinics and that was where we found out about the theme and brainstormed ideas. So that was super fun then the time before that was Personal progress. So I am anxiously awaiting the next camp clinics. Just two more camp clinics and we will be off to girls camp!!!!!!!!! I am so excited. I can't wait to get the list of things we need for girls camp.
We will be sleeping in tents does anyone have any ideas on what to bring?

Girls Camp Theme

AAAAAH,
I can't believe I haven't written about this earlier!
I get to go to girls camp this year in June. I am so extremely excited.
Oh I am so happy what is great in just a couple of weeks I will be off to girls camp!
My mom said she is going to take me shopping for it I am so excited.
The theme this year is "being diligent in the lords work" A girl who is in the YW grade I guess you could call it above me a Mia Maid suggested that we do road work theme to go with the theme. BRILLIANT. So that will be the theme for the theme. "God's Work Ahead" The only sad thing is that there are only going to be five maybe six girls who are going to camp in our ward. I am sad they will miss it but my happiness that I will be there for it kind of overpowers the sadness.(because I am crazy like that) LOL I can't wait. I love camp clinics they are super fun. I will write back soon!

Which dress do I pick if they are still in style? /Temple Marriage.

I kind of call these dresses Princess Fiona dresses

Today we had a lesson on Temple Marriages.
Oh my gosh it was so amazing. my teacher.
She has gotten me so excited to get married in the temple.
I have spent the night looking at LDS wedding dresses. I ended up counting the years until I would most likely get married. You can tell that the message is crucial when the lesson book/teachers manual (not the teacher just the teacher manual) has the teacher tell a story about a couple who decided not to get married in the temple and on their drive to the wedding reception right after they were done with the ceremony they were killed in a car accident. You know that something is important for you to do when the church uses the scare factor.
But really for me that story wasn't necessary. The way that my teacher taught it, it made me so excited. She passed out little candy bags the bag was white just like a wedding favor. I can't wait for my special day here is a few pics. of the dresses I like click here to go to the website they also sell modest prom dresses. I hope we have more lessons like this.
PS. Which dress do you guys like best?

BYC! and YEC!

Today was my first BYC (Bishop Youth Committee) and YEC (Youth Executive Committee) meetings.
We went an hour and a half early. First was YEC and we are working on Gorden B. Hinckly's "BE's" Today was be clean and they said that the one before was "Be involved." "Be Smart" and "Be Grateful" So of course we discussed tattoos and keeping your body healthy, porn and other things that I won't go into to much detail on. I think they did great on finding the balance and communicating it effectively to us. They also talked about example which quite usually follows talks like this. I think it was kind of fun. Then afterward was BYC where every presidency in turn told everyone what they would be doing for the next month or so. Amy announced it and I was really grateful for the meeting we had had earlier in the month. It was kind of cool to here what was going on and to know about important things that you hadn't originally known about.
Well I hope we will always be this prepared.

Secretary! WOOOOOHOOOOO

I can't believe it!
have been made Secretary of my Beehive class!
You could say that it's only because there is only five girls in our class and four are needed for a president but the fifth girl is moving although she has just moved here. So some could say that is why I am in when really it's a no wonder I am in it, I mean I am absolutely fabulous and frankly presidency material and nobody can deny that. ( - : Oh I am so excited. I get to make a binder and a notebook and I get to take notes. Then the really good lessons I will have them documented and I can use the ideas in the future for when I have a class of YW (hey it could happen). Also I will be able to look over them and feel inspired. Oh I am so excited, Yippee Yippee Yippee. I think the girls selected for the presidency were a good choice. Amy is the president and I think she will be great because she really knows how to handle a group of people.
Claire. is first councilor which is great because she is social and will reach out to people and really encourage all of us to do the same. Tina is second counselor and with her motherly instincts she will really help us embrace our motherly instincts too which will help us when we babysit for ward activities. then ME as Secretary. Yippee. Oops dinner time.

My First Temple Trip! (my first Baptisms for the dead)

Sorry I couldn't flip the pics.
Anyways here are some pics of my first temple trip!
It was so amazing. I mean of course I was nervous because I had never done something like that before. That didn't distract me from the spirit I felt there. It made me again want to be a better person. The feeling as I was confirmed and baptized was beyond imagining. Of course I still wanted to have one of those experiences where you actually see the people you are baptizing but I was happy with feeling them there with me instead. I could feel the love my heavenly father had for me, and how proud he was that I was doing his work and helping his children go up to heaven. I couldn't believe yet I could that everyone who was being baptized were my brothers and sisters. On the way home I found that I was praying for everyone I saw. If kids were walking home I would pray. It was amazing. I hope every trip is like this.

Young Woman in Excellence

So I just got back from Young Woman in Excellence it was awesome.
All of the YW had to do and present a ten hour project and this was mine.
We (Me with help from my mom) did an old fashion stationary wardrobe to learn more about this click here.
Basically it is a collection of stationary including the classic envelopes and sheets along with calling cards among other things that were customary a while back. Mom and I made our own paper and my hands hurt really bad afterwards but it was worth it. So basically I recycled (to make the homemade paper) AND I did a ten hour project. AND I got a history lesson a very productive week I must say.
I had a great time. We sang "His Image In Your Countenance" by. Janice Kapp Perry (We meaning the young woman)
They served apple cider and we had a great time. I really like the song I ended up adding it to my I-pod afterwards. So hopefully all of my 10 hour projects will be this fun. ( - :

Texting is bad!?

OK so my very first and second fireside that was all about how bad texting is.
And I am not sure that I agree. Now note that I don't really text. I mean yes I have a phone and texting is on there, but I don't go crazy with it. Yes you need to be careful about what you say in them because they can be forwarded. But seriously it doesn't mean texting is overall this horrible thing and you will need to repent if you do it! They made a lot of good points like don't text while you drive and don't send or participate in bad texts, but I mean isn't it like common sense for a Mormon not to send nude, suggestive, or inappropriate pics. I mean come on. You seriously believe we will do that when we can't even date until we are 16 and it's a double date mind you until we are married. Textting while the person is right by you is way overboard I agree. Texting in the same household now that depends. Like if you have a baby brother you are watching but you aren't aloud to leave him alone but you have to ask your brother, dad, mom, etc who is in the other room but won't here you if you yell (which would scare or wake up the baby.) So texting makes sense in that scenario. I am glad to see they are concerned about our well being, but maybe they could manage to take it down a notch.

First Day of YW PART 2

I am so happy!
I today was my first day in young woman's church.
My leader has the same name as the main character of on of my fave TV shows.
I have actually succeeded in pretending I know the YW motto or whatever the thing is called that you repeat every Sunday. The girls in my Beehive class are super funny. I haven't gotten to ask them my questions yet but I will get to it. (Or learn by their example) I am a lot more conscious of dressing modestly and being a righteous person. I still haven't worked on the good works project at all! I hope that I get to it. In YW's today they called me up to the front and gave me a necklace with the YW logo on it. I was kind of sad that is wasn't silver colored because then I could where it with everything. But no complaints here I am just so glad to finally be in.

Yay this is only the second time I get to finally say this.

First Day! PART 1

Today was my first day of mutual!

We did personal progress like we do every first week of the month.

I am super pleased with the young woman's program overall!

We brought recipes and we did two weeks worth of recipes.

The Personal progress project is actually a mandatory thing to do! It is under Good works pg. 54

Here is a summery of what it says....

Plan your family's menus, obtain the food, and prepare part of the meals for two weeks.

Wish me luck!

The Age Game

I am completely bummed.
All the girls that were at YW which is everyone that was going in this year,
are all ready in! How unfair is that! I am going to be the absolutely last one in and it sucks. All because my birthday is in September. If you haven't noticed me and the month of September have a love hate relationship. Love: I am the oldest in my class. Hate: That keeps me back from the girls my age. Love: It's a month of swimming and lemonade and ice cream. Hate: It's so scorching that I have to stay inside. Love: It's my birthday month. And now lady 's and gentlemen it is time to unveil the new hate! Drum roll please! Hate: it is keeping me from going into young woman's longer then I would like. Oh well I will be in soon enough! Anyways. This post originally wasn't going to be about my love hate relationship with my birthday month instead it was going to be about the girls I know who have already entered.

(Names have been changed for privacy's sake)

Amy - the popular. She is gorgeous and popular. She isn't mean which is a wonder. And is amazing at sports. (which is how you gain social status in this town, you have to at least play. Forget hot cheer leaders who date the football players idea that goes on in every other school) Note to me: ask her how she does her hair.

Lena - Has moved. recently and I don't know much about her.

Tina - the motherly. She is terrific with kids and will be a great mother some day (also moving). Note to me: take lessons from her.

Claire - A social butterfly. Everyone thinks she is their best friend. She really knows how to socialize and mingles at every event she goes to. Note to me: ask her to teach me to be a social butterfly too.

Me - I look like I am Amy's twin except with not quite the social status. (I am more rock climbing dancing, soccer - which they don't have here, nose in a book type girl) But you know that everyone wants to be my friend because I am so cool like that.

SO there you go. My future beehive classmates. Can't wait

SUPER DUPER

I am so super duper excited to go into young woman's,
I only have five days and eight ours left! But who's counting?
I really hope that I will become a lot more spiritual once I am in.
Which not that I am not trying in primary I truly am, it's just a little bit difficult when the lessons and singing times are planned for kids over two times younger then you.
I mean there are always the classes that come afterwards which aren't to bad at all.
Especially when the teacher brings treats! Hey everybody likes treats and snacks when they haven't eaten for five hours. No really think about it there are three hours of church you eat an hour or two before that (in my case two) that is five whole hours, and studies have said you should eat every four. So I am not a kid just because I like treats. (OK maybe I am still a kid a little) But when I enter into young woman's I will no longer be a child. I will demand respect with my modest dressing and righteous manner. It will be great so lets practice. " don't see any kids around here do you?" "No?" "Good answer!"

Teach me something do's and don'ts

I have no idea what they are going to teach us in young woman's.
I am really hoping that it is something useful. Something we can use in the future.
So I have made a list of my Do's and Don'ts of things to include in personal progress.

Do's

  • How to plan, and prepare a months worth of meals
  • Budgeting
  • How to keep up on laundry
  • How to clean a house basics
  • How to keep a house clean
  • How to learn to be patient
  • taking care of children
  • How to take care of your body
  • Dating
  • How to maintain a marriage
  • How to make your own fitness and health program based on your personal needs
  • Self discover
  • Preparing for patriarchal blessings
  • Preparing for having a family

Don'ts

  • Definitions of anything
  • BUSY work

Wow that's a first. My famous list has more Do's then Don'ts they should be pretty well off! Super excited!

Faith in God

I have finaly conpleted faith in god.
The bishop gave me a necklace and I was so excited.
I am one step closer to being in young womans I absolutly can NOT wait as I have cleary stated before. I went up in sacremant meeting and the bishop shook my hand.
I bet that Personal Progress is even more fun than faith in god. Hopefully.

Young Womans or Bust!!

Here are some pics of new beginnings.
It was so super duper fun. I am on such a high for some reason going just made me feel amazingly spiritual. I had such a great time. I am unfortunately still eleven although I consider myself twelve. The bummer thing is, is that my birthday isn't for another six months. I will have to miss girls camp and stay in primary for a whole six months more. I don't know if I will survive for six months, then they will have to spare one personal progress book and bury it with me, along with the camp manual of course. Alas alack they don't know what a joy they are missing, so much of a joy in fact they should change the rules world wide. Hee hee. Dang I can't wait. They read poems they had written about each of us (Below) and they had hand outs (candy watches the theme was we will stand as a witness to god at all times) and they gave us a small teddy bear with a rain bow wrapped around it. The spirit was so strong I can't believe how great it made me feel. I wonder though why I don't feel like that in primary. Maybe it's because I am older then my classmates because I am a September baby. Well until then I think I will just act like I am already in young woman's.

(The Poem They Wrote)

The Times Of Cheyennes Life
The time of day was morning,
The clock said around eight thirty.
When Baby Cheyenne ------ arrived,
And oh was she ever "Purty"!
The time of day we're not real sure,
But eighteen months had come and gone,
When Cheyenne got to go to nursery
And learn the word of God.
The time of day is morning,
The time is flying by,
Soon Cheyenne will be out of primary
And will happily wave Goodbye!
The time of day is evening,
The clock this time says six,
At New Beginnings Cheyenne sits
To be welcomed to the Young Women mix.
The time of day is right now,
And how the time has flown,
We want to tell you about Cheyenne
So here are some things we know...
Cheyennes first love must be dancing,
She really thinks dancing is great,
Cheyenne likes to read and write stores,
And plays piano and does crafts first rate.
So it's to welcome Cheyenne
Into our young Woman's class
She will turn twelve on September the 2nd
And we know she will have a BLAST!
